Hoppy Holidays - An Easy Easter Treat

Happy Easter Everyone! I don't have much time to post today because there are still baskets to open and eggs to be found, however I had a fun and easy treat that I wanted to share with you. My neighbor has been making these for years and I remembered them just in time for today's festivities...

Chocolate Birds Nests!

You'll need to start with the chocolate of your choice. I used semi-sweet and white (2 cups), but you can substitute for dark, belgium, etc and even add peanut butter to the mix. You also need chow mein noodles (1 bag) and jelly beans (1 bag).

Melt your chocolate in a glass bowl in the microwave for thirty second intervals (3 times at medium heat usually dies it), stirring in-between. If chocolate begins to thicken, add a dash of canola, vegetable, or coconut oil and stir thoroughly. Once melted, stir in the noodles until evenly coated. You may also choose to substitute the noodles for pretzel sticks or coconut.
Once mixed, place 'messy' nests on parchment paper.

Add three jelly beans to each nest, let chocolate harden, and voila...you've got yourself some cute and festive birds nests for your Easter/Spring dessert! This is also a great project for kids since there is no baking involved and takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Enjoy!

Happy Hobbying,
